Captains Mike & Lori Bauer are the owners and operators of Coastal Island Charters, established in 1994. They conceived the idea of working together, and sharing with others what they love, fishing & exploring the incredibly beautiful Southeast Alaska. Both hold USCG 100 Ton Captains licenses, CPR & First Aid Certificates. They have been residents of Alaska since 1976 and make their home in Wrangell.

Mike is a licensed Alaskan Fishing guide and with his 29 years of experience in the area is quite accomplished. Another attribute to the success of the business is that he knows all the systems on the Huntress inside & out and is known to be able to “fix” anything. Lori, a certified Alaska Naturalist, and an excellent cook has many delectable ways to prepare the fresh seafood that is caught throughout each trip. Together, Mike & Lori compliment each other well with their combined talents, local knowledge and their warm Alaskan hospitality.

New to the Huntress as of the 2004 season is the addition of their deckhand, Kristi Kelly. Kristi was born & raised in Sitka, her parents, who are good friends of Mike & Lori ran a charter boat out of Sitka for 17 years. In addition to growing up in the business, she also crewed as cook for 5 years on another well established charter boat out of Sitka. She brings with her many talents as well as a pleasant personality & strong work ethic, truly an asset to the Huntress Crew.
